Christina Russo, Cocktail Connoisseur at The BoardRoom

Christina Russo began her cocktail career in San Francisco, where she learned the art of mixology under renowned Spirits and Bar Educator H. Joseph Ehrmann. Since then, Russo has worked in almost every type of libation destination, from upbeat nightclubs to quiet dives and craft cocktail bars, including the Library at the Redbury. It is at The Residence, under the direction of Mixologist Peter Garcia, where she learned how to create craft cocktails at high volume without sacrificing the flavors and complexities of each drink. This broad range of experience has given her a rich and diverse approach to the art of mixology, which she most recently demonstrated while helming the acclaimed bar program at Salazar in Frogtown. Russo now brings her passion for mixology to Downtown Los Angeles as the lead bartender for The BoardRoom, a sophisticated speakeasy located within Kendall’s Brasserie at The Music Center. Russo believes in crafting cocktail programs that are seasonal and approachable, yet imaginative. “Above all, the customer’s experience is most important to me. The cocktails augment it, rather than create it on their own.” Russo has been honored as a finalist at multiple bartending competitions, including World Class and Stoli Elit, and has been selected for renowned industry events, such as the Camp Runamok Whiskey Education Camp in Kentucky. In her free time, Russo enjoys visiting distilleries at the source, like Patron in Mexico, and serves as the Director of Communications for the SoCal chapter of the USBG.
