Jose "Junior" Melendez Executive Chef Pentimento | Plaza Cafe at LACMA Jose "Junior" Melendez started his culinary career at the age of 9, tending the grill as his grandmother, aunt and mother traveled throughout the southwest from one food festival to another. Family trips to New York always ended with a meal to the neighborhood pizzeria and Melendez soon developed a love for Italian cuisine. A decade later, a simple hobby had burgeoned into a passion, realized in Melendez's departure for the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, California. After a few stints working amongst some of California's Italian cuisine veterans including Christopher Fernandez of Sausalito's Poggio and Mark Peel of Los Angeles-based Campanile, Melendez met Octavio Becerra and Joachim Splichal. Soon thereafter, Melendez was promoted to Executive Chef of Patina Restaurant Group's Zucca Ristorante located in Downtown LA and is now Executive Chef at Pentimento at LACMA.

Parking

Museum parking is available in the lots at Wilshire Boulevard and Spaulding Avenue and at Wilshire and Ogden Drive. Parking in these lots is free every day after 7:00 p.m.
